General Jeremiah Useni (rtd) has won the People’ Democratic Party (PDP) primaries in the southern zone of the state. Useni beat his closest rival Honourable George Daika to clinch the ticket and represent the party in the General elections.

The former FCT minister under Late General Sani Abacha was a one-time chairman of Democratic Peoples’ Party (DPP) before ditching the party and joining the PDP. The incumbent senator, Victor Lar is contesting the gubernatorial primaries of the party tomorrow.

Useni contested the general election for the Southern senatorial seat under the platform of DPP in 2011 but lost out to Lar.
