The Beroms have responded to an allegation linking them with the arrest of a Fulani leader known as Ardo. Chairman management committee of Berom Youth Moulder, Mr Rwang Dantong while responding to the umbrella body of the Fulanis, Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) stated that the Fulani leader arrested with 5 skulls was not based in Berom Land. He added that the Ardo was arrested in Mangu LGA and not in any of the Berom LGAs so the issue of Beroms colliding with the Special Task Force (STF) was false and misleading.

Dantong said it was clear that the Fulanis employ mercenaries to wreak havoc on Plateau while calling on security agencies to investigate the activities of Ardos within the State. He warned the Ardos residing in Berom areas to desist from employing mercenaries with the sole aim of attacking Berom people.

It will be recalled that ViewPointNigeria reported that a Fulani leader Alhaji Sale Albashir was arrested with five human skulls following an extensive search in his residence in Mangu. Also recovered during the operation were sophisticated guns and other paraphernalia. MACBAN afterwards accused STF of collaborating with Beroms to dent the image of their peace loving leader and Fulanis in general.
