News available to ViewPointNigeria indicates that the Federal Government has increased the allowance of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members.
The Minister of Sports and Youth Development, Solomon Dalung, disclosed this yesterday at the NYSC Orientation camp in Mangu, Plateau State.
Speaking, Dalung said the government is dedicated towards providing proper security and welfare for youths in the national service
Dalung advised the Corps members not to compromise on security by disclosing any personal information with strangers.
ViewPointNigeria gathered that during an inspection tour at Kebbi, last week, the Director General of the scheme, Brig.Gen Suleiman Sanusi Kazaur had mentioned that there were ongoing plans to increase the allowances of the serving corps.
Speaking through the Director of General Service, Alhaji Basauri Sanusu Yakasai, the Director General said that all state governments were also expected to carry out upward review of their local allowances from what they are paying now to N10,000 monthly.
