In a move that is not a surprise to many political pundits in Plateau state, former deputy governor of the annulled Michael Bot-Mang-led administration in the State, Mr. Jethro Akun, on Wednesday, dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The late Bot-Mang was the governor of Plateau, when former Governor Joshua Dariye was impeached by the then State House of Assembly. Dariye was however later reinstated following the ruling of the Supreme Court, which declared his impeachment illegal.

Akun made his cross-carpeting public via a public statement which said, “I write to withdraw my membership of the PDP with immediate effect for personal reasons. I wish to however thank all those who have assisted me during my service in various positions I have held within and outside the state.”
