Plateau state Commissioner for Health, Dr. Kunden Kamshak while commissioning 46 direct drive solar refrigerators donated by the European Union (EU) for onward distribution to the 17 LGAs said the state will continue to collaborate with the European Union to support immunization in Nigeria to achieve 100% immunization target in the state. He stated this at the former EEU prime building complex J.D Gomwalk secretariat Jos.
Commissioning the 21.2 voltage solar panel and refrigerators, the Commissioner said Governor Simon Lalong is passionate about the health care of Citizens in the state, appreciating the EU support to immunization in Nigeria Project for the gesture saying the donation will boost the immunization target in Plateau. He assured of judicious use and proper monitoring of the facilities.
Plateau state technical assistant the to EU Dr. Solomon said Plateau is privilege to be among the states to benefit from the EU project especially in the areas of immunization and the direct solar refrigerators are effective for storing vaccine especially in the rural areas.
Executive secretary Plateau state Health care development board said the facilities will bridge the gap of lack of proper storage system in the LGAs.
