Edo 2020: PDP to inaugurate campaign council July 7

The Peoples Democratic Party on Sunday said its campaign council for the September 19 governorship election in Edo State will be inaugurated on Tuesday, July 7, with most members of the council participating via Zoom.

This was contained in a statement, titled “PDP Inaugurates Edo Governorship National Campaign Council Tuesday” signed by the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan.

He said, “The Peoples Democratic Party will, on Tuesday, inaugurate its National Campaign Council for the Edo state governorship election with the larger members of the committee participating on Zoom.

“This is in compliance with COVID-19 protocol on social and physical distancing at public gatherings.

“However, the Chairman, Deputy Chairman and the Secretary of the Campaign Council will be physically present for the event slated for Tuesday at 1pm, alongside the National Chairman of our party, the governors of our party, members of the National Working Committee, as well as Board of Trustees, members who are also members of the campaign council and are available in Abuja.

“Also, the members of the Campaign Council, who are currently in Abuja, are also expected at the venue of the inauguration
“Members of the campaign council, who will not physically participate at the inauguration, are directed to register in advance for participation via Zoom by clicking on the link that has been communicated to them accordingly.”

The PDP had named the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Adamawa State governor, Ahmadu Fintiri among members of the campaign council for its candidate, Governor Godwin Obaseki.
