Accolades as Dr. Patrick Dakum inspects new IHVN research lab & building in Abuja.

News reaching ViewPointNigeria indicates that the Chief Executive Officer, (CEO) of Institute of Human Virology of Nigeria, IHVN Dr. Patrick Dakum has led a team to inspect the international research centre of Excellence of the IHVN being constructed in Abuja.

ViewPointNigeria understands that the seven-story edifice is to house quality laboratory infrastructure and to promote research of international standards into infectious and non-infectious disease.

This will be a big milestone for Nigeria and indeed Africa given that there are very few such centres on the continent. This positions the institute as a clear leader in finding solution to infectious diseases in Nigeria and the continent.

It will be recalled that Dr Patrick Dakum as been at the fore-front of setting the agenda for the COVID-19 for Nigeria –providing insights and advise on critical aspects of the virus response.
