Former Minister of Sports and Youth Development during the first tenure of President Olusegun Obasanjo, Hon. Damishi Sango has described the Gubernatorial candidate of the PDP in the April, 11th, 2015, polls, Gyang Pwajok as “Governor in waiting”, saying the outcome of the governorship election in the State was not the will of the people.

Sango stated this at the weekend in Jos the Plateau State Capital, while commissioning Senator Gyang Pwajok’s constituency projects in 5 Local Government Councils in Plateau North Senatorial Zone.

According to him, the issue of who really won the governorship seat of the state is still hanging in the air as “it is not yet over until it is over”.

He noted that the PDP governorship candidate and the party have petitioned the election petitions tribunal, over the irregularities they discovered in the elections.

“If the PDP in the State won the majority seats in the state House of Assembly elections, won all the 3 senatorial seats and also won 6 out of 8 federal House of Representatives seats, it clearly shows that
Plateau still remains a PDP state to the core, we wonder what went wrong with the Governorship election, be we are sure our party did its home work and was expecting victory, only for Jos North election
results to then be delayed till late into the night on the second day after the polls, leading to the turning of the table against the PDP Candidate.

“Whatever might have happened behind the scene, we are looking forward to the panel of Judges at the governorship Tribunal to right the wrong because justice will prevail at the end of the day”. He stressed.

The former Sports Minister commended Senator Pwajok for building constituency town halls and skill acquisition centres for the people of the Local Government Councils in Plateau North Senatorial
District, within the two and half years he spent in the Senate.

“It takes some one that is destined to be a leader of his people to do what Senator Pwajok has done for the people of his zone. I wonder why those who spent 4 years in the Senate could not afford to boast of
doing for their people, what Pwajok has done in Plateau North.

Sango, who is a founding member of PDP in the State, used the occasion to call on PDP supporters in the State to remain steadfast with their party, saying the party still remains a party to beat in all the 17
LGAs in the State.

Traditional rulers, community leaders, Local government chairmen and the stakeholders in the 5 Local government councils of Jos South, Jos East, Bassa, Riyom and Barkinladi Local governments who spoke at the event ,commended Senator Pwajok for giving them quality representation at the National Assembly.
