Plateau Regeneration Group on Monday, appealed to citizens of the state to obey the laid down protocols put in place by the state Government to flatten the curve of the dreaded Covid 19 Virus .
The group in a statement signed by Pam Datiri ,the Public Relations Officer also reminded citizens of the state that the ban on public processions in the state is still in force.
Pam Datiri said he was reacting to a statement credited to a group Coaliation for the Defense of Democracy in Nigeria which said that it was putting all Civil Society Groups, Various Youth Organizations and Student Bodies On Standby who shall Occupy the State house of Assembly over the suspension of two local government chairmen of the state for insubordination.
He said the decision to ban public gathering over the outbreak of COVID 19 is still in Force and the decision was arrived during a critical stakeholders’ meeting of the state which comprises of Traditional rulers , religious leaders, various women and youth groups and professional bodies
As a group we plead against flouting the laid down guide lines “With the rising cases of the dreaded Covid 19 ,it is not advisable for any group to come out to protest ,as the state government is working hard to stop the spread of the virus in the state .
Plateau now has over 420 reported cases of COVID 19 and has increased exponentially .
“We advise citizens to adhere strictly to the ban as this is to prevent the outbreak of the dreaded COVID 19 virus in the state “the statement further added .
