Plateau State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Ndam Lar on Wednesday said that 11 family members who had contact with a COVID-19 patient have been traced and placed on supervised isolation.
Speaking to journalist in Jos the State capital, the Commissioner said “We have traced the family members of a who lives in Enugu State. We took their samples to the testing center in NVRI, Vom for confirmation.
Unfortunately, one of the 12 family member have tested positive and the remaining 11 have been placed on supervised isolation.
“Because the isolation period of COVID-19 is 14 days, we have therefore placed them on observation.
“Another test will be conducted after the 14 days isolation period to determine their status before their certification as free from the virus.
He further stated that the state government is doing everything possible to prevent the spread of the virus in the State.
On the person that died in Kanam on Tuesday, the Commissioner said he sample is been tested to assertain the cause of his dead.
