Barely three weeks after Senator Gyang Pwajok emerged as the PDP gubernatorial flag bearer in Plateau State, more reactions have continued to trail his emergence, as a group under the aegis of Plateau Youth Forum for Leadership and Development, has called on President Goodluck Jonathan and the National Leadership of the party to cancel the 8th, December, 2014, primaries and conduct a fresh one.
The Youths made their position known while briefing journalists in Jos, Sunday, through its Chairman, Dalyop Davou.
The group said, “We call on President Goodluck Jonathan, PDP National leadership and other stakeholders to understand that, we do not reject or condemn the aspiration of Senator Pwajok as a person because he has the constitutional right to contest, but for the sake of the people of Plateau and love for democracy, we will appreciate if the primaries is conducted properly to avail Plateau people the opportunity to choose their governor by themselves and for themselves.

“After series of meetings with youth from all zones of the State, we make bold to say that the said emergence of Sen. Gyang Pwajok is a mockery of democracy capable of not just truncating the democratic peace to which we all enjoy after years of electoral battles but deepening ethnic suspicion and hatred.
The group warn that, if the primaries are not conducted again, then PDP stand the possibility of losing the governorship seat and President Jonathan also losing in the State.
“We want to categorically state here that, we believe in power rotation which will provide equitable platform for every zone to not just have a feel of Little Rayfield, but to exhibit its unique talent for development of our State.
“To allude that credibility can only be ascribed to an individual is an insult on our collective intelligence as Plateau people”.
