The new Leadership of Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) took oath of office today at the Labour House, Abuja.
The newly sworn-in leaders are to serve the union for the period of four years.
Comrade Shamdung Ayuba Jepla, a Plateau man from Pankshin Local Government Area who was elected National Auditor pledged to discharge his duties to protect the interest of those whose mandate he is carrying and that of the office he occupies. Speaking to journalists shortly after the swearing-in, he said “I am not more competent to be selected amongst others to serve in this position, but it is out of trust which I will uphold to the best of my ability. I will protect the interest of all local government employees through effective and diligent service. We shall work as a team to ensure that local government workers are better treated”
The event was witnessed by uncountable number of Plateau people who went in solidarity with comrade Shamdung Ayuba Jepla.
