COMMUNIQUE FROM THE NORTHERN YOUTH ASSEMBLY OF NIGERIA (NYAN);
PLATEAU STATE CHAPTER:
ON THE MAYHEM ON THE PARTS OF JOS NORTH AND JOS SOUTH OF PLATEAU STATE AS AT 30TH SEPTEMBER, 2018.

The sun has gone deem on a Sunday, the beautiful and colourful garment worn by our beloved city is now stocked in the blood of her own children. Oh indeed “the dark day has fallen upon us” (Chinua Achebe). In grieved and total sadness we condemned in all ramifications the gruesome and barbaric killing of the peace loving people of Plateau, an evil act carried out by the apostles of doom, messengers of ill-luck and servants of Pains and tears.
Hence without any sort of reservation and with an unequivocal voice we call upon the Government and all the Security Architecture and apparatus on the Plateau to be swift to this unfortunate situation. And to imbibed in them the ETHICS of their most noble profession and arm themselves first with TRUE PROFESSIONALISM and bring peace and succor to the peace loving people of Plateau State by bringing this papretradors to book.
To our Family (The peaceful and civil Students of Unijos) we mourn the demise of one of our bright star, Mr. Shedrack Kums (a 300level Law student) who now interface with the great beyond and many who now sleep as a result of this cowardice act of the enemies of Peace, Justice and Freedom.
We call on all Students and Youths to please embrace the most civil way of handling things by remaining calm and refusing to satisfy the urging hunger of the evil bloodthirsty hoodlums by obeying constituted Authority. As surely one-day Victory is Sure!!!

We once more call upon the Security Agents and Structures to use all within their Arsenal to curb this mayhem and ensure peace on the Plateau.
Finally we would like to say “The only viable weapon that wins War is LOVE! ”
