The Church of Christ In Nations (COCIN) in Bauchi has called on the federal, states and local governments in Nigeria to put in place measures that will help reduce poverty and unemployment in this period of recession.

It‎ made the call in a communique issued at the end of its 55th annual regional Church council meeting.

The communique signed by Reverend Lawi P. Pokti noted that people were going through hard time due to the economic recession the country is passing through as such there is need for government intervention at all levels.

The Church stated that it was praying for the quick recovery ‎of president Muhammadu Buhari from the health challenge he is facing, calling on Nigerians to support the ongoing fight against corruption.

It also called on its members to support the government in its move to endure honest and proper utilisation of the nation’s resources entrusted to elected and appointed representatives for the benefit of all Nigerians.
