The hard economic times currently biting the Nigerian state has hit hard at CLAPAI orphanage in Jos. All 356 children at the orphanage are currently at risk of going without vital supplies of food and sanitation as their supplies have dwindled significantly in the last few months.

Pictures of their store house, shared with ViewPointNigeria indicates that only a meagre amount of food and vital supplies remain.

The problem has arisen due to the hyper-inflation which has ravaged the Nigerian economy in the past few months. With a bag of rice currently retailing between N15,000 – 17,000 and a Mudu being sold at N700.

For your information, a Mudu of rice can feed several children for several a long time.
