Christians Pilgrims Welfare Board belongs to the church, says Rev. Yakubu Pam.

The chairman of the Plateau State Christians Pilgrims Welfare Board Rev. Yakubu Pam has disclosed that the board belongs to the church and they will work together with all Christians bodies in the state for the benefits of all Christians.

Speaking with Journalists in his office in Jos on Wednesday said his office is going to link up with majority of church leaders who are directly beneficial of the board.

“The Plateau Christians pilgrimage welfare Board solidly belongs to the church because is a place to help pastors, bishops, evangelists and missionaries to propagate the gospel by taken the people physically to Isreal to build their Faith”.

Pam who is also the chairman of the Northern Christians Association of Nigeria comprising of 19 States including the FCT Abuja said already the board has created a relationship with the church to see the board as their own.

He disclose that his office has written a proposal to the Plateau State Government for a new befitting office with a space for the pilgrims.

“The present pilgrimage office in Jos is completely not representing Plateau state, the structure is over 50 years and the place is not a good image for Plateau State which is the home of Christianity in Nigeria, there is always traffic when pilgrims are on their preparation and screening exercise”.

According to him the board will need an office with space of large capacity to accommodate pilgrims during screening exercise.

“We are going to operate an open door policy with the church as well as the state Government, we have also told government to operate open door policy to accept our advised, when the time for people to travelled, the church will be given a larger part to participate.

He further maintain that Plateau State been the headquarters of many denominations will also partner with countries on tourism, not only going to Isreal, but create a conducive environment for other countries to visit Plateau State, saying Jos Plateau is tourism state that Nigeria is proud of.

He however revealed that the board is panning for an annual prayer program tagged, “Pray for Jerusalem”, saying it will be an opportunity for all those who have visited Isreal to participate since Plateau State share some similarities with Isreal.

The board chairman pledge to change the screening patten of the Board where official comes from Abuja to Jos to screen Plateau State People, ” How can they officials identify or know people from Jos” he said.

He promised to partner with the church to allowed genuine people that are supposed to traveled for pilgrimage.
