Chocolate City has confirmed the stepping down of its current CEO, Audu Maikori. The stepping down of the label Executive comes 10 years after he co-founded the record label, which has grown to become one of the biggest labels in not just Nigeria but the across the African continent.

The stepping down today of Audu is a follow up to the announcement made by M.I at Nigerian Entertainment Conference on April 22, 2015. At the time of the announced, no date was mentioned as the official sign-off date, other than that it would happen some time in June 2015.

In a number of tweets yesterday, June 30, 2015, Audu made it known that he is stepping down as CEO of Chocolate City with immediate effect and taking on the position of President, Chocolate City Group –which is the ultimate holding company of the Chocolate City Record Label.

In Audu’s place, M.I Abaga who was Vice President of Choc City and was born and bred in Jos, becomes the new CEO while fellow rapper and label mate, Ice Prince (who hails from Pankshin LGA) becomes Vice President.
