News reaching ViewPointNigeria indicates that a Chinese national was killed while two others sustained various forms of injuries after an attack by unknown gunmen on Friday. The attack took place in Kirim village of Kaura Local Government Area in Kaduna State when the foreign nationals were supervising ongoing rail rehabilitation work along the Jos-Kafanchan rail track.

Villagers of the communities stated that the gunmen came from the bush and ambushed the foreigners while on site and perpetrated the act. They stated that the two injured were rushed to Kafanchan General Hospital before been transferred to an undisclosed hospital in Abuja for treatment.

Confirming the incident, Kaduna state police commissioner, Mr Olufemi Adenaike said the incident occurred in the Plateau state side of the border. Kirim is a border community between Kaduna and Plateau states.
