The frontline Senatorial aspirant for Plateau Central Senatorial zone; Chief Pedro Ardiyel Dafur, has received the blessing of the Mupun Traditional Council as he continues his wide consultation and visitation to critical stakeholders, within his constituency.

Chief Dafur during the visit told the members of Mupun traditional council that having undertaken substantial contacts and consultations he was convinced by the outcome to contest the senatorial election come 2023. He therefore considered it necessary to first seek the blessings of his Royal fathers before proceeding further in his consultation and campaign efforts.

Dafur added, having had the privileged of working closely with His Royal Highness Da Yusuf Walle Fwangbring and entire members of the Mupun Traditional Council, as the National Caretaker Chairman of the Mupun Cultural Development Association (MUCDA), he needs no introduction as they are in the better position to assess his capability to vie for the seat of the Senator to represent the good people of Plateau Central Senatorial zone come 2023.

Responding, His Royal Highness Da Yusuf Wale Fwangbring, welcomed and thanked Chief Dafur, for his aspiration and his continued willingness to serve the people and contribute his quota to nation building, whenever opportunities beckoned. He appreciated his show of humility by coming to seek the blessings of his Royal fathers in the pursuit of his political ambition.

Other Members of the Mupun Traditional Council comprising of the Mishkoms from the various villages in Mupun Land -Jiblik, Jing, Asa, Kagu and Abwor Dyis also expressed their joy and happiness over Chief Dafur’s aspiration, saying that they have been working with him for many years as the President of the Mupun Cultural Development Association (MUCDA) and have enjoyed working with him closely. They expressed confidence that Chief Dafur will make a Worthy Senator and have no reservations in recommending him for the task ahead.

The Paramount ruler Da Yusuf Walle Fwangbring and his council members thereafter performed the royal blessing on chief Dafur with a word of prayer led by a member, the Miskom Asa, Rev. Samson Bulus Dawurung. They prayed for Chief Pedro Ardiyel Dafur’s ambition, and trust God to grant him success in the race and to perfect all that concerns him.
