The Chevening Scholorship mentoring session which took place in Jos Plateau state today 2nd September 2017, has seen a significant level of interest from Plateau graduates and youth, who are considering future studies in UK universities.

The session which is being ran by British High Commission in conjunction with PI and PRTVC commenced at 9:00 am with keynote sessions by Dr Balogun, Dr Swomen and three other Chevening scholars ( Dr Esin, Dr Maikano and Dr Meshak).

This year’s edition of the Chevening scholarship has seen three successful candidates from Plateau taken as part of the 2017 edition – they include Dr. Dan Meshak, Sabastine Wakdok and his wife Helen Wakdok.

This mentoring session is pivotal and key for Plateau because it will ensure that qualified candidates from Plateau have all relevant information they need in order to lodge in their applications.

During the 2016 edition of the scholarship, Dr. Hoomsuk Swomen who attended the London School of Hygiene and Tropical medicine was the only contingent from Plateau. Without a doubt, several other Plateau candidates could have obtained the same scholarship, but potentially did not know about the it. As such, this session will give practical steps about how to be successful when lodging an application.
