CaptiV Dream: Moving animated Film brings back memories of the lost Chibok Girls

April 15, 2020 marked six years since about 276 girls were abducted from the Chibok Community in Borno State. A new film titled “CaptiV Dream” by Rejoice Abutsa pays tribute to the missing girls.
The film reflects that girl child education should be a concern for everyone, because when girls are forced out of class, we all become victims of an underdeveloped nation.
The film features a young girl remembering her friends, whose dreams are now held captive. We see that all this girls wanted was an education to make their future better. We see that they looked up to great personalities but everything changed in one day.
The families and the community haven’t recovered from this past event and this short animated film triggers our emotions once again to the Chibok girls kidnap.
CaptiV Dream was written, directed and co-produced by Rejoice Abutsa. Joseph Oloidi served as animator, production designer and co-produced the project.
Other creatives on the project are Philemon Ogunsami (Storyboard artist); Blessyn Kure (Voice Over Artist) and Mercy Abutsa who served as the Creative Consultant.
