The Academic Staff Union of universities ASUU have vowed to continue with the 7 month strike. VPN gathered that all ASUU branch congresses are meeting today for briefing and to take decision.

The Varsity lecturers are not satisfied with the proposal made by goverment during the last meeting on the 6th of October 2020.

The government is proposing to release 30 billion for for EAA and 20 billion for revitalization of public Universities, however, ASUU calls the proposal of government as blackmail since IPPIS was not the major cause of the industrious action but a number of issues that will guarantee the development of learning on our university campuses.

ASUU members are not excited over the new antics of government, saying this is always the style of government over time hence the union is tired of strike with empty promises from government.

ASUU members also insist that the re-negotiation of the 2009 FG/ASUU agreement must be concluded before the strike is called off. Again, on IPPIS ASUU rejects the platform and says there is no going back ” as the alternative UTAS is ready and ready for intergrity test .
