FULL STATEMENT
August 17, 2017
What an evil attack to say the least at the headquarters of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) located at Wuse Zone 7, Abuja. The incident occurred, Wednesday 16th August, 2017 at 5 am.
The Prayer Force Network (PFN) strongly condemns this attack. It is not only cowardly but devilish, what if there were innocent citizens passing by at the environment? Chief Pofi asked rhetorically. This attack is an open challenge to the Nigerian security agencies.
The invasion of EFCC headquarters has opened another phase in the war against Corruption and Terrorism. It has revealed very clearly that looters will stop at nothing to frustrate the ongoing anti-graft war. They are ready to shed blood and induce more fears and pains in the anti graft agencies and the poor citizenry.
PFN calls for strong support for the anti-graft agency and calls all arms of the Nigerian security agencies that have a duty to unveil the identity of the hoodlums and their sponsors.
We charge Nigerians to renew their commitment to the war against corruption. This is a war between light and darkness, a struggle between truth and falsehood, a tussle between good and evil. There must be no retreat, no surrender. We must not allow agents of darkness overwhelm EFCC. It is about our future and the destiny of generations yet unborn.
To this end, we commend the resilience, steadfastness and outstanding courage of the Acting Chairman of the EFCC Mr. Ibrahim Magu to continue with the good works he is doing and not be deterred by this evil act. We also commend the efforts of the Acting President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, In particular, we appreciate his refusal to succumb to undue pressure from the series of Boko Haram attacks, Fulani herdsmen and the Kidnappers associations, we pray for more Wisdom and knowledge to unite the country and make us stronger together in Jesus mighty name!
In Conclusion, we urge the Inspector General of Police (IGP) and the Director General of the Department of State Security (DSS) to be alive to their responsibilities by accepting the challenge thrown by the attackers and bring them to book immediately
