The Technical Committee Support group of the PDP Presidential Aspirant and Former Vice President of Nigeria Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has apologised to Journalists Jos, Plateau who were mishandled by security during his visits to delegates in Jos on Monday.

The Leader of the technical committee saddled with the realisation of Vice President Atiku Abubakar ‘s 2023 Presidential Aspiration Chief Raymond Dokpesi in a Press statement issued on Tuesday said the Frontline PDP Presidential could not have directed that the media be shut out of the event due to the respect he has for the media and its role.

He denied the report by a section of the media, that the press was prevented from covering former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar’s consultations held on Monday in Jos with delegates of the Plateau state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party.

Dokpesi, explained that what occurred was that on arrival at the Plateau state PDP secretariat in Jos where the former Vice President was to meet with delegates as part of his consultation ahead of the May 28th PDP National convention, it was obvious that Journalists already in the hall in their, and he wanted to meet with delegates separately before speaking with them.

He said the Presidential aspirant only pleaded that the media excuse the meeting, and return for interviews after the consultation and apologies the manner the Security handle the situation.

The Technical committee Leader appealed to Journalists not misinterpret the intention of the former Vice President, saying the Media has always being part of his agenda.

While appreciating journalists also cautioned against false narratives, and what he called deliberate moves to blackmail the person of Atiku Abubakar, must be discountenanced by the public.
