The NEC of ASUU holding at the University of Lagos declared a one month warning strike.
Recall that the union has been agitating for a number of demands including the payment of Earned Academic Allowance, revitalization fund, the replacement of the Integrated Personnel Payroll Information System, IPPIS, with the University Transparency and Accountability System UTAS, among others.
Viewpoint Nigeria gathered that with the new payment platform of IPPIS the University system is battling to survive as many can not employ staff. infact for about 22 months with the introduction of IPPIS many lecturers are yet to see their salaries.

A member of the NEC confirmed to VPN that, if government failed to address this demands after one month the lecturers will be forced to embark on a full blown comprehensive strike.
