Pam Ayuba Dangwong may have been the subject of an assassination plot by yet to be identified gunmen over the weekend. The alleged assassins were said to have stormed his residence at Dandyes-Chugwi in Vwang district of Jos South LGA with sophisticated weapons and military paraphernalia, lying in wait for him to emerge.

They were said to have arrived in a Hilux truck and two Vectra cars all parked strategically at key sections leading to his house –and they were all dressed in military uniforms. It was confirmed that the incident occurred at approximately 9pm in the evening, when the Special Adviser was holding a meeting with Church Elders at his residence.

At first, they tried to barricade the road leading to his house, but they later attempted to make their way into his house –which at the time was said to have been locked. The incident was said to have cause pandemonium in the community as several people fled into their houses to take cover.

Speaking to newsmen after the incident, Hon Dangwong confirmed the incident, saying that prior to this visit by the yet to be identified armed men; he’d received several threatening messages which he had previously discounted. He confirmed that he’d contacted the STF commander in Jos South to see if there was an operation being conducted in the area, but was told there was none.
