APC debunks PDP allegations of billboards, Posters destruction, says allegations infantile and Baseless

The All Progressive Congress APC, Plateau State Chapter has described as infantile and baseless the outcry by the Opposition PDP in the state that the APC is planning to destroy its billboards and posters prio to the APC Presidential campaign kick off in Jos next week, saying the PDP allegation is because they are looking for undue sympathy.

It would be recalled that Head Media of the PDP Governorship Candidate Barr. Caleb Mutfwang, Hon. Mangna Yusuf Wamyil had in Statement issued on Tuesday said Information available to them indicates that the Plateau State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, are mobilizing political thugs to remove billboards and campaign materials belonging to the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, within Jos metropolis and the State at large.

“The premeditated act of violence, we understand, is intended to deceive the APC presidential candidate, Alhaji Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and his running mate, Alhaji Kashim Shettima, into believing that Plateau State belongs to the APC, when the duo and their supporters arrive Jos for the flag-off of their campaigns next week, on November 15.

“By this statement, we are putting the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, on notice, as such wild acts of violence and destruction of campaign materials have been outlawed by the Electoral Act 2022, and specifically contravene Sections 92-93 of the Act” Mangna Said.

But in a swift reaction the APC State Publicity Secretary Hon.Sylvanus Namang in a Press Statement signed and issued to Journalists in Jos Wednesday said the allegations is clearly premeditated act aimed at provoking the APC which has remained a very responsible and responsive party fully aware of its social contract with the people.

Namang said the desperate whipping of sentiments by the Media Aide of the PDP Governorship candidate will not change or bring the fractious party to reckoning in Plateau state.

“The APC does not need to vandalise what is non existence. We need a real opposition party in the state which the PDP has since lost that status except for its noisy social media provocation to gain sympathy.

“We know that they had not been sleeping well since the announcement of Jos as the flag off venue of the APC Presidential Campaign on the 15th of November.

“They are also not unaware of the mass defectors who would be welcome to the fold of the APC hence this empty cry.
Bringing INEC, the Police, DSS and the NSCDC into a non existing threat is ridiculous.

“The alarmist betrayed himself when he stated that there is no smoke without fire which clearly means that the parry is simply working on hearsay and beer parlour talks.

“We call on the security agencies to investigate the PDP to prove its allegation. The APC in the state also calls on the security apparatus in the state to be on the alert and put an eagle eye on the PDP supporters as what the mind speaketh comes from the heart.
The party must be the one planning to wreak havoc and disrupt the peace and serenity of the state.

“The LOC members he accused of being instructed by the governor to cause mayhem and violence as part of the presidential campaign flag off is too childish.

“The Committee headed by the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Idris Maje Wase is made up of 39 other decent, peaceable and very responsible individuals.

“While they continue to wail, we shall remain focused and defeat them again and again as our winning streak remains unshakeable.
