A chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), in Plateau state, Hon. Shehu Bala Usman, has yesterday applauded the Plateau state Governor, Barrister Simon Bako Lalong for carrying the Hausa/Fulani community along in his administration.

Usman who is the Jos north council management secretary was reacting to the statement making the round in some quarters that the governor has neglected the Hausa/ Fulani community in the state, particularly the Jos North.

According to him, such accusation against Lalong was mischievous and a calculated attempt to create confusion in the state.

To lend credence to his reaction, the secretary pointed out that the governor soon after he assumed office, out of the first batch of appointments, appointment a Hausa/Fulani, Yusuf Gambo Awaja as the Deputy Chief of Staff Government House and appointed another Hausa/Fulani as secretary to Jos north council.

He said, “who ever said that the governor is not carrying Hausa/Fulani is not fair to him and it is mischievous to make such comment against the governor. In the history of Plateau state, no governor has ever appointed somebody from our community as Deputy Chief of Staff but Lalong did. So to be fair to him, he is going well with our community.”

The secretary further said that the on-going road projects in the Hausa community was another thing for some to believe that Hausa community was not left out, calling on the people to desists from making sentimental criticism rather than being constructive.

He however called on the people of Jos north and the state in general to embrace peace and harmony in the state for sustainable development.
