Speaking on the incident, the Director of Media and Publicity for the Lalong/Tyoden campaign organization, Barr. Festus Fuanter, lamented what he termed the high level of impunity the state, saying that the desperation of politicians was becoming too difficult to fathom. He said, he couldn’t understand how youth could instantly organize themselves into a mob unit to undertake such barbaric act, without sponsorship from politicians.

He appealed for calm in the polity, saying politics cannot be a do-or-die affair. “We must learn to practice the true tenets of democracy and not the barbaric kind that is currently being witnessed today”. He said his party was assured of winning the polls and therefore they remain unperturbed by any gimmicks that other politicians may be trying to play.

‪He also called on all APC supporters to always remain focused and resist any firm of violence that will blow no good to anyone.
