Group operating under the aegis of Concern Alliance for New Nigeria ANN youths on Friday described the factional Presidential candidate of the Party Gbenga Hassim Olawepo as an old wine desperately contending for a new skin.

Addressing newsmen in Jos;
Charles Ihemegbulem, the Convener, of New Nigeria Ambassadors and the leader of Concern ANN Youths, said ANN is no doubt the fastest growing political party in Nigeria, despite coming to the Nigerian political stage recently as one the newly registered parties by the electoral umpire – INEC.

He said ‘”This height and status did not come by a rocket science. It came on the wings of strong ideological base, painful sacrifice and hard work from party faithfuls who have strongly resolved to stand firm for their generation and the generation yet unborn. ”

We the New Nigeria Ambassadors, who also represents the Concern ANN Youths; have been in the fore front of taking the message called “A New Nigeria” to the Nigerian masses. We have denied ourselves pleasures and chose not to take cognizant of the risk involved in taking this message to Nigerians, especially the vast majority who are caged in the turbulent oceans of penury and squalor orchestrated by the rulers that be.”

“Amazingly, we have seen how our message brought hope again to majority of the masses who hitherto have lost faith in Nigeria working again. And this further reaffirmed our position to stand firm with the ANN as a political platform that has got the right message of emancipation and also have people of integrity to rescue the people.

Today, there is contention within the party. And this contention is a calculated attempt to suffocate the New Nigeria that is about to be birthed, so as to keep the people in perpetual bondage. We welcome this contention because to us it amounts to a battle of clear demarcation and boundary adjustment.”

“A Gbenga Hassim Olawepo, came into the ANN on the pretense of a genuine advocate of the New Nigeria we preach. Little did we know he is nothing but a wolf in a sheep clothing; an old wine desperately in need of new skin to hide under, in order to strangle the struggle for a New Nigeria. Since he surfaced, after keenly observing his modus operandi, all we see is a man who is in parrarel with the ideologies and spirit of the ANN. His team are made up of the same Nigerians who failed the people and his system is still the same old order: divide and rule, politics of godfatherism and money bag, politics of desperation and bitterness, politics of intimidation and selfish oath of alliance… ”

“We are very glad at this development because to us, this amounts to a Judas Iscariot being revealed even before selling the most credible alternative political platform to liberate the people.”

“Gbenga Hassim Olawepo is not the only one that is exposed, also the immediate past interim chairman of the party, Jay Osi Samuels and some handful others who failed to endure integrity test were also exposed. It’s sad to see men who preached integrity yesterday derailing from integrity today. This therefore means integrity yesterday is not integrity today; also, untested integrity is not yet to celebrated. The truth is that the crop leaders that will deliver Nigeria are men of unshakable integrity.”

“Having said this, with all sense of responsibility we have yet seen another reason to pour in our sweat and blood to advance the course of a new Nigeria with the ANN. Because we have seen men who have practically Demonstrated that no material enticement can displace integrity in their contribution to humanity and nation building. Mr Emmanuel Dania the National Chairman Alliance for Nigeria, is one of such men. A man who have refused to be enticed and to betray the struggle.”

“On this note we join the BOT of ANN and other Executives who are standing firm with him(Mr Emmanuel Dania) to pass a votes of confidence on him. ”

At this juncture we want make it unambiguously clear that ANN remains to us that alternative credible political womb to birth the New Nigeria. Thus, it is upon our shoulder to protect and jealously shield it from every contending spirit. We hereby, advice Gbenga Hassim Olawepo to stop causing faction and parading himself as a presidential candidate. We also advice Jay Osi Samuels to stop parading himself as the interim national chairman.”

“Finally, having witness and participated in the presidential primary of the party held on the 29th of September 2019 by the genuine leadership of our party under Emmanuel Dania: which stood the test of Democratic conduct and the party’s constitution, we stand uphold and defend the outcome of that process, which is the emergence of A Fela Durotoye as the ANN Presidential candidate come 2019”
