Amo National Development Association, (AMONDA),the umbrella body of Amo people in Bassa LGA, on Saturday, resolved to support the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, governorship candidate in Plateau State, Sen. Gyang Nyam Pwajok.

The Association made the endorsement during a stakeholders meeting convened by Mr. Bitrus Nabasu in Katako community of Pengana constituency in, Bassa LGA.

The convener of the meeting, Mr. Nabasu, who contested the PDP gubernatorial primaries alongside 15 other candidates but lost out to Sen. Pwajok, said he believe so much in the competence, capability and credibility of Sen. Pwajok, that was why he convened a stakeholders meeting of the entire Amo nation to publicly declare their endorsement.

The convener of the meeting, Mr. Nabasu, who contested the PDP gubernatorial primaries alongside 15 other candidates but lost out to Sen. Pwajok, said he believed so much in the competence, capability and credibility of Sen. Pwajok and that was why he convened a stakeholders meeting to publicly declare their endorsement.

He said even though he previously contested the primaries, he has decided to remain in the PDP because he believes that power comes from God and he gives it to whosoever he desires.

He argued that there was no need to vote for another party because the PDP, under the leadership of Governor Jonah David Jang, has fixed many pressing challenges in the state.

The mobilizer who promised to work tirelessly to ensure the victory of PDP at all level said he is convince that GNS will not disappoint the people of Plateau.

Explaining why GNS was endorsed by the Association, its National President, Mr. Simon Harry, said the group resolved to look beyond ethnic considerations in the interest of good governance and development.

He said the visit of Pwajok to Katako community is a great honour to the Amo people and a sign of a better future.

Harry who praised GNS’ work at the Senate, expressed appreciation to him for providing a community hall to the Amo people in Jengre, he noted that, apart from political expediency in terms of carrying all the ethnic groups in Plateau State along, there is a greater need of ensuring that a capable hand is given the mandate to take Plateau to a greater height and no other person is well positioned to do it than GNS and the PDP.

Reacting to the endorsement, Sen. Pwajok thank the people for the impressive turn-out to receive him and promised to give them quality leadership and making the dividends of democracy get to the grassroots.
