Plateau state All progressive Party chairman, Chief Latep Dabang has disclaimed the news by one Prince Rotdunna Ibn Sekat which went viral on social media that Hon. Latep Dabang has declared interest to contest for Plateau Central Senatorial District.


In a statement by the APC state chairman Hon. Chief Latep M. Dabang through his Personal Assistant Mr. Mulak Bege Wesley says “The general public and Party faithful should note that Hon. Latep M. Dabang did not make such declaration(s) as he is focused on leading the All Progressives Congress (APC) to an enviable height and as such the public is called to disregard such information as it is geared towards misinforming the good people of Plateau State and party faithful.”


“I want to state categorically clear that his focus and resolve is to oversee a United APC on the Plateau and to emerge victorious in the forth coming Plateau South Senatorial election which is scheduled to take place soon.”


The statement further states that the public should be careful of the information they consumed on the social media knowing that some news on the social media are not verifiable.
Dabang also warn that journalist and bloggers should always make sure that the content to be publish is accurate and objective and should be aware that federal government has fixed a fine for fake news.
