A state of uneasy calm pervades Jos city the capital of Plateau state after the dastard bombing acts yesterday afternoon, during which approx. 200 people were reported to have lost their lives.
Investigations by our correspondents this morning suggests, that many parts of Jos North especially around the busy districts of Ahmadu Bello way, Old Bukuru Park, Murtala Muhammed way and Beach Road were somewhat deserted. Only a handful of shops were said to have been opened for business because of the uncertainty which still pervades the Plateau space. Several miscreants were said to have taken over the streets yesterday following the bombings, fighting, looting and causing mayhem.

Meanwhile, the Plateau state Governor Da. Jonah Jang has release a statement condemning the acts and re-iterating Government’s resolve to deal with the current situation heads-on. In a statement released by the Director of Press Affairs Government House Jos, Mr. James Mannok, he said the twin bombing of the area was a barbaric and senseless act which must be resisted by all meaning Nigerias and prayed that God gives the families the fortitude to bear the loss. He stated that the war on terror was must collective, requiring all hands to be on deck in order to defeat the common enemy.
Additionally, the state commissioner of information Mrs. Olivia Dazyem has added her voice to the call for Plateau citizens to remain calm and law abiding during this challenging period.
At time of filing this report, several SSS and security agencies had cordoned key areas of the metropolis as investigation of the circumstances continue.
