The October 11th, 2014, governorship bye-election in Adamawa State is less than six weeks from now, however the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the State has concluded the screening of its 7 aspirants.
The screening exercise which was held at the state party Secretariat in Yola, ended late Monday night, had all the 7 aspirants in attadence with each of them taking their turn.
Chairman of the Screening Committee, Oluwa Rotimi Akeredolu confirmed to journalists in Yola that the exercise was hitch free and went on as scheduled.

He added that all the aspirants were very orderly and complied with the party’s rules and regulations.
As at the time of filing this report, the committee has interacted with all the aspirants and will be making the report known soon.
A source close to the screening committee told ViewPointNigeria that all the 7 aspirants were successful.
The source maintained that there is high possibility of all the aspirants agreeing to produce a consensus candidate that will fly the party’s flag in the governorship bye-election.
However an aspirant, Senator Ahmad Barata, who was the first to appear before the committee refused to talk to the press men as he appeared looking very angery.
Meanwhile a source close to Barata the politician told African Examiner that the lawmaker has been under intense pressure by a powerful Chieftain of the party to drop his ambition for the Chieftain’s favourite aspirant.
It was also gathered that the Chieftain has mounted pressure on other aspirants to step down for his favourite aspirant who is believed to be the underdog in the race.
In a related development, Dahiru Bobbo who is a close associate of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, who spoke to journalists denied any attempt to persuade him to withdraw from the governorship race, saying each of the aspirants vying for the governorship is free to make independent decision.
