News available to ViewPointNigeria indicates that The House Committee Chairman on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs and Member representing Jos North LGA, Hon. Ibrahim Baba Hassan has damned the appointment of Management committee chairmen, by describing it as undemocratic.

In an interview with Journalists at the House of Assembly,he described the absence of elected officials as an absence of democracy in the State.

Hassan said the action has brought about a setback in the system, he added that he has submitted his findings before the honorable House which will be made public soon.

He said that the house is working to ensure that all the laws are in place to conduct a hitch free local government election with various committees including the Plateau state independent electoral commission, PLASIEC working hard to pass the 2017 budget into Law.

The former deputy speaker said that the executive rescue administration headed by Governor Simon Bako Lalong has given them the matching order that all council chairmen should stay at the headquarters because recent information reveals that most LGA chairmen have abandon their people and are now in residing the state capital.
