Following the resignation of the Plateau state speaker Hon. Clark Dabwan this afternoon, a new speaker has been voted in -he is in the person of Hon. Titus Alams. Hon. Alams is the member representing Bokkos constituency, he was one of the members said to be front runners during the political intrigues within the house. He was sworn in amidst tight security in the State House of Assembly complex Jos at approximately 2:30 pm this afternoon. 

Other members in contention for the position i.e., Hon. Istifanus Mwansat and Hon. Timothy Golu were said to have been magnanimous in defeat -extending their warm congratulations to the new speaker. 

Earlier this afternoon, the former Hon. Speaker Clark Dabwan was said to have tendered his resignation -citing personal reason. His resignation brings to an end, days of political wranglings during which uncertainty was said to have filled the Plateau political space.
