The Plateau State Water Board has dismissed a rumour that the raw water coming from the Lamingo Dam into the treatment plant at British-America junction in Jos has been poisoned.

The board’s Public Relations Officer Nangor Ndam yesterday said there was no truth in  the rumour, adding, “The rumour has forced us to run a test on the raw and treated water and there is no sign of poison. I believe the rumour is the action of some mischievous persons. The water is safe for consumption.”

Checks by ViewPointNigeria’s correspondent reveals that, contrary to the rumour that several people were admitted to the Plateau state Specialist hospital having consumed water from taps, our investigations reveal that there were no patient admitted at the Plateau Specialist Hospital in Jos on the basis of poisoning from the water.
