The All Progressives Congress (APC) leadership, alongside the Minister of Water resources officially flagged off the construction and reticulation of the Gile Water Scheme, marking a significant milestone in expanding access to clean water and enhancing local livelihoods in Gile community of Kanke LGA Plateau State.
Speaking at the project site surrounded by community members, journalists, and party stalwarts, APC National Chairman Prof. NENTAWE Yilwatda stressed the pivotal role of grassroots infrastructure in fulfilling the administration’s mandate.”Water is life, water is culture, water is animal production, and water is job creation and wealth,” Prof. NENTAWE stated during his address to the press.
“Retaining and reticulating water supply back to local communities will provide drinking water to people who have longed for reliable access. This project is about human dignity, rural development, and economic empowerment.”
Joining the national chairman at the ceremony, the Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation, Prof. Joseph Terlumun Utsev, emphasized the federal government’s holistic approach to managing water resources to drive economic growth and public health.”
Under the mandate of the Ministry of Water Resources and Sanitation, our primary objective is to boost food production, create sustainable jobs for our youth, and ensure that basic sanitation and water facilities reach every corner of the nation,” Prof. Utsev noted. “

The Gile Water Scheme in Kanke LGA aims to expand potable water reticulation, support small-scale irrigation, reduce waterborne health hazards, and generate direct and indirect employment across the host and surrounding communities.
