SENATE APPROVES GAGDI’S BILL FOR FEDERAL COLLEGE OF EDUCATION, DENGI-KANAM AS NAVAL INSTITUTE BILL ADVANCES

In a historic legislative milestone for Plateau State, the Senate on Tuesday unanimously concurred with the House of Representatives to pass a bill sponsored by Rt. Hon. Yusuf Adamu Gagdi establishing the Federal College of Education, Dengi-Kanam. The landmark legislation passed its first, second, and third readings, alongside final concurrence, in a single session following commitment from Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and now awaits the formal assent of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. This new institution directly replaces the former Federal College of Education, Pankshin, which was recently upgraded into a fully operational Federal University of Education following earlier legislation successfully pushed by the Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam (PKK) representative.
Adding to the constituency’s institutional momentum, another major bill spearheaded by Hon. Gagdi to establish the Nigerian Navy Basic and Technical Institute in Kanke Local Government Area has successfully advanced to its third reading in the National Assembly. Evolving from an earlier proposal for a naval secondary school, the upgraded institute aims to deliver advanced technical and vocational education to both naval personnel and civilians while providing a strategic security base to boost safety across the region. With all three local government areas in PKK set to host significant federal footprints, Gagdi described the developments as tangible dividends of purposeful representation, reaffirming his dedication to fulfilling his campaign promises to the constituency.
