In a major political development shaping the race for the Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam (PKK) Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Yusuf Adamu Gagdi has secured a sweeping endorsement for his third-term bid to the House of Representatives, consolidating a powerful coalition of federal, state, and party leadership.
The endorsement, which Gagdi described as a “defining moment” for the constituency, signals a highly coordinated effort within the All Progressives Congress (APC) to present a unified front ahead of the upcoming elections.
In a statement released on his official Facebook platform, Gagdi revealed that the mandate is backed by the highest echelons of both the federal and Plateau State governments. Notably, the lawmaker received the formal endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a move expected to significantly fortify his campaign’s momentum.The alignment stretches from the presidency down to the grassroots.
A high-powered state delegation—including Mr. Yari, serving as the personal envoy to the Executive Governor of Plateau State, alongside the Executive Chairmen of the Pankshin, Kanke, and Kanam Local Government Areas—formally conveyed the government’s directive.
Furthermore, the National Chairman of the APC, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, explicitly backed Gagdi’s candidacy, solidifying the party structure’s total alignment behind the incumbent.
According to the directive issued, all party stakeholders, government appointees, and APC structures—spanning from the state executive level down to the local ward and unit levels—have been ordered to align with and support Gagdi’s adopted candidature.
State leadership reportedly settled on Gagdi as the preferred candidate after close monitoring of his grassroots movement, loyalty to the party hierarchy, and demonstrated legislative performance.
