Major General David Enetie officially took over from Major General Henry Ayoola as the new Special Task Force (STF) commander in Plateau state. The STF code named Operation Safe Haven was set up to maintain peace in Plateau after series of unrest.
Gen Eniete while speaking after the taking over urged the officers and men of the STF to sit up and remain alert until permanent peace is restored in the state. He said “I have been briefed of the level of peace efforts and level of peace achieved by my predecessors, but i want to tell you officers of the command that it is not over until it is over, we have a lot to achieve and I expect you to sit up until total peace is restored.”

“The goal of this task force is to make plateau a safe haven and I urged you not to relax until we achieve this goal, there will be no abandoned project as far as restoration of peace on the plateau is concerned.”
The outgoing STF commander, Gen Ayoola expressed appreciation to the troop for the sacrifice made in ensuring that peace was restored and urged them to remain loyal to the new commander while maintain discipline at all times.
Gen Ayoola was made the STF commander in Plateau on the 11th of May 2012 and was recently redeployed to the Defence headquarters.
