Plateau State (PLASMIDA) Sets Pace in Entrepreneurship Education

The Plateau State Microfinance Development Agency (PLASMIDA) has taken a giant leap forward in its quest to empower the next generation of entrepreneurs. Today, the agency was officially confirmed as the coordinating institute for the Students Entrepreneurship Activity Hubs (SEA-Hub) programme in Plateau State.

This milestone achievement is a testament to PLASMIDA’s unwavering commitment to fostering entrepreneurship and economic growth among young people in the state. Through the SEA-Hub programme, PLASMIDA aims to equip secondary school students with the skills and knowledge necessary to become innovative entrepreneurs and leaders.

According to Hon. Bomkam Ali Wuyep, Director General of PLASMIDA, the agency’s goal is not just to train young minds, but to strategically catch them young – nurturing their talents early to transform them into innovative entrepreneurs capable of impacting Plateau State and the global economy.

To achieve this vision, PLASMIDA has outlined a comprehensive roadmap for SEA-Hub implementation. This includes mainstreaming SEA-Hub into the educational system for long-term sustainability, aggressive orientation campaigns to engage students early, talent hunts to identify and support high-potential young entrepreneurs, state-wide competitions to encourage innovation and enterprise, and embedding skill acquisition as a lifestyle for Plateau youth.

The success of the SEA-Hub programme is a result of collaborative efforts between PLASMIDA, the Ministry of Education, and other stakeholders. The Ministry of Education has been instrumental in supporting the programme, with Hajiya Sadiya Ibrahim(Representing commissioner of Education) emphasizing the importance of continuous monitoring and support for students post-training.

The impact of the SEA-Hub programme is already being felt, with impressive testimonials and product displays by student entrepreneurs demonstrating the programme’s transformative power. As PLASMIDA continues to lead the way in entrepreneurship development, it is clear that the future of Plateau State’s youth is bright. With the SEA-Hub programme, PLASMIDA is empowering the next generation of leaders and entrepreneurs to drive economic growth and prosperity in the state.
