PIDAN CONDEMNS KILLINGS OF PASSENGERS ALONG MANGUN, IN MANGU LGA, Sympathizes with the state government and the families of the victims.
PIDAN received with great shock and deep sense of sorrow the report of the unfortunate killing of 12 passengers from Zaria, said to be travelling to Quanpan for a wedding ceremony. This is so painful knowing fully well what human lives mean to the Plateau man and also the freedom of movement as enshrined in our constitution. The act is completely condemnable and does not represent the nature and character of the Plateau man.
The PIDAN leadership equally sympathizes with the government and people of kaduna state and the immediate families of the victims who lost their lives, as well as those who sustained injuries during the unfortunate event.
PIDAN calls for thorough investigations into the incidence and those found culpable should be brought to justice immediately.
PIDAN is concerned that this act is coming at the time when communities in Mangu, Bokkos, Bassa, Riyom, Barkin Ladi and Wase LGAs are faced with several attacks by herdsmen, resulting in the loss of lives of women and children. PIDAN calls on governments at all levels to find out the true identities and mission of the travellers and their attackers to ensure that the perpetrators of this dastardly act are made to face the full wrath of the law.PIDAN is equally appealing to all citizens from Plateau and Kaduna states to exercise restraint and conduct themselves in an orderly manner in the face of all the provocative attacks in the states. PIDAN reiterates its resolve to work together with the good people of Kaduna and all other neighbouring states, to tackle the unending security challenges confronting them. Finally, PIDAN calls for calm and peaceful coexistence amongst and between all Nigerians where ever they may find themselves.
