The last is yet to be heard of the All Progressive Congress (APC) primary election held before the 2015 general elections for Jos North-North Constituency in Plateau State, as a member of the Constituency, Alhaji Jamilu Baba, has petitioned the Inspector General of Police (IGP), to investigate an alleged Diploma in Business Administration Certificate of the University of Jos, tendered by Hon. Ibrahim Baba Hassan, a serving member of the Plateau State House of Assembly, currently representing Jos North-North Constituency, in his Affidavit in support of Personal Particulars of person seeking Office/Member, submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

You would also recall that the Suit, No. FHC/J/CS/20/2015, filed by Hon. Abdul Saleh (APC) challenging the qualification of Hon. Ibrahim Baba Hassan (APC), to contest the primary election of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the state is still pending before the Federal High Court (FHC) sitting in Jos, the Plateau state capital.

In his petition letter to the IGB through his Counsel, Chief Okoli Ofem Obon-Obla of Obono, Obono & Associate, Alhaji Jamilu, stated that the invitation of the Police, is for the IGP to cause an investigation into an alleged case of forgery of a Diploma in Business Administration purportedly issued by the University of Jos, dated the 25th November, 1996 to Hon. Ibrahim Baba Hassan.

The petition letter dated 9th November, 2015 and received by the office of the IGP with stamp dated 12th November, 2015 and copied to the Governor of Plateau State, the Commissioner of Police Plateau State Command, the Speaker of the Plateau state House of Assembly, the state Chairman of APC, the Chairman of APC, Jos North Local Government, the Registrar of the University of Jos and Hon. Ibrahim Baba Hassan, reads in part as follows:

“We are solicitors to Alhaji Jamilu Baba (08036364210 & 08170605010) of A. F9 Nassarawa Yanshanu, Jos North, Plateau State of Nigeria (herein referred to as our client)

“Our Client is a member of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Jos North Local government Area of Plateau State.

“We have the authority and instruction of our Client to make this representation and invitation to you to cause an investigation of a case of forgery of a Diploma in Business Administration purportedly issued by the University of Jos, Plateau State of Nigeria, dated 25th November, 1996 issued to one Ibrahim Baba Hassan. A Photocopy of the said Diploma is attached herewith for your perusal and consideration.

“The said Diploma was since been denounced and disowned by the Office of the Registrar of the University of Jos in a letter dated 20th May, 2015 addressed to A. S. Garba & Co (Legal Practitioners & Researchers). A copy of the said letter is attached herewith also for your perusal and consideration.

“Presently, the said Ibrahim Baba Hassan is a member of the Plateau State House of Assembly.”
