Gideon Dashe of APC wins Pankshin South election re-run

APC has continued to sweep through Plateau, with a resounding victory in the 20th February election re-run at Pankshin South.

Gideon Godfrey Dashe a pharmacist and previous aspirant for the same position, defeated the incumbent, Hon. Instifanus Mwansat who hitherto represented the constituency in the past four assemblies.

Returning Dashe yesterday, the electoral officer declared him winner with higher proportion of votes, having counted, validated and certified the results.

The election of Gideon Dashe would be the first time a person of Miship origin is representing the constituency. Previously, the position was held by Hon. Istifanus Mwansat who is Mupun by origin

In another development, Senator David Mark of PDP defeated comrade Daniel Onjeh of APC in the Benue South election re-run by a resounding margin of  approx. 12,000 votes to return back to the Senate.
