Hon Hitler disclosed this at the launch of the CYPA Africa Rant to Roundtable Youth Policy Brief with Stakeholders in Plateau State on Tuesday 25th March, 2025, held at Valada Hotel in Jos.

CYPA Africa convened young people, government officials, civil society leaders, the academia and security agencies in Plateau State to officially launch the Rants to Roundtable Youth Policy Brief—a policy document that embodies the voices, perspectives, and aspirations of young people in Plateau State.

This policy brief is the product of the Youth Governance and Policy Dialogue (YGPD), a series of solution driven discussions held between June and July 2024 at the Advocacy Hub in Jos where over 40 young leaders engaged in thought-provoking conversations. Led by the Executive Director CYPA Africa Ambassador Chris Iyama, these dialogues captured diverse insights and practical solutions on key issues such as Education, Youth development, Technology, and Youth engagement—all critical to shaping a more inclusive and responsive governance system.

The recommendations from these discussions were compiled into the Rants to Roundtable Policy Brief, which serves as a strategic guide for the Plateau State Government to strengthen youth engagement in policymaking. The special adviser to the Governor on Youth Mobilization and Engagement was in the launch to receive the document on behalf of the state government.

This brief not only highlights the pressing issues facing young people in Plateau State but also extends its relevance to the national landscape, offering clear, actionable solutions for integrating youth perspectives into governance and decision-making processes.

This policy brief, reaffirms CYPA Africa’s commitment to ensuring that youth-driven policy contributions are not just heard but implemented, tracked, and sustained.

This is is a call to action for a governance system where young people are recognized as co-creators of policy, not just participants in the conversation.

Discussions and advocacy are expected to continue towards the implementation of the policy brief.
