The Plateau Initiative for the Development and Advancement of the Natives (PIDAN) Plateau Central Zone has condemned in the strongest terms, the latest attacks on innocent citizens of Plateau state. The Central Zone chapter of PIDAN in a press statement signed by its secretary, Dr. Katkukah Danjuma Gokum noted that the recent round of attacks which was carried out specifically in Lihitlubang, Tyop, Tam and Chisu communities of Mangu local government area of Plateau state is senseless and heinous. PLATEAU INITIATIVE FOR THE DEVELOPMENT AND ADVANCEMENT OF THE NATIVES ( PIDAN) PLATEAU CENTRAL ZONE CHAPTER CONDEMNS IN STRONG TERMS THE ATTACKS ON OUR PEOPLE IN LIHITLUBANG, TYOP, TAM AND CHISU COMMUNITIES OF MANGU LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA OF PLATEAU STATE.

PIDAN is shocked and deeply saddened by the senseless attacks on Lihitlubang, Tyop, Tam, and Chisu community of Mangu Local Government area of Plateau state on 30th and 31st of January, 2025 resulting to loss of countless innocent lives and destruction of properties.

PIDAN strongly condemns this heinous act of violence. It is barbaric and a clear violation of human rights and fundamental dignity. PIDAN expresses deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims, Mangu LGA, and the Plateau State Government. We stand in solidarity with the affected communities. Life should be respected as nobody gives life except God. Therefore, it should be valued. The unceasing attacks and killings is living us in pains and tears and there is urgent need for increased efforts to promote peace, tolerance and understanding. PIDAN therefore calls on all authorities, but government and security agencies to take immediate action to bring the perpetrators to justice and ensure that such atrocities never happen again.
