Mangu Teachers turn out massively to welcome new Education Secretary- Jenifer Bangtu.

The teachers from Mangu LGA warmly welcomed the recently appointed Education Secretary, Mrs. Jenifer Bangtu. A significant number of educators assembled at the Local Government secretariat, eagerly anticipating the arrival of the newly appointed education secretary, while others accompanied the E.S. from Jos to Mangu.

The first stop was the office of the Executive Chairman of Mangu LGA, where they were received by the Secretary of Mangu Local Government, the SSA to the Governor for special duties, and the Chairman of PDP Mangu LGA.

Among those present were the Leader of the Legislative Arm, Hon. Councilor Ampang Ward, Elder John Dapel, the Director of Research and Planning for Mangu LGA, the NUT Chairman of Mangu LGA, and the teachers who had been waiting since the morning.

The NUT Chairman of Mangu LGA expressed happiness over the government’s decision to appoint one of their own, Mrs. Jenifer Bangtu. The Union conveyed their delight that the government prioritized having educators in the role of Education Secretary. Furthermore, the NUT chairman praised the leadership qualities of the newly appointed E.S. and urged the government to ensure that teachers receive their rightful entitlements.

The highlight of the event was the formal introduction of the Education Secretary to the Chairman of Mangu LGA. Following the introduction, the chairman wished Hon. Jenifer Bangtu a successful and rewarding term while serving both the community and the state.

The PDP Chairman of Mangu LGA, while offering accolades to the newly appointed Education Secretary, emphasized the pressing need to revitalize the education sector, lamenting that many teachers are reluctant to remain in their designated postings. He encouraged the E.S. to act courageously in fulfilling her responsibilities.

The new Education Secretary, Comrade Jenifer Bangtu, took a moment to express her gratitude to those in attendance and to the teachers who patiently awaited her arrival. Hon. Jenifer urged that teachers should be given priority in all governmental initiatives. Additionally, she thanked the Governor, His Excellency Caleb Mutfwang, for her appointment and called upon the teachers present to support her in achieving the mandate and policy objectives of His Excellency regarding the education system.

The newly appointed Education Secretary also took the opportunity to commend the Governor of Plateau State for implementing the ₦70,000 minimum wage for state workers.
