PLATEAU STATE ASSOCIATION IN UK CONDOLES WITH THE GOVERNOR AND VICTIMS OF THE SAD EVENT AT SAINTS ACADEMY JOS

Plateau state Association in United Kingdom UK condoles with Plateau state government and the families of the sad event at the Saints Academy Jos Plateau state.

In a press release Signed by the Chairman of the association Mr. Rwang David Chall says “It is with great sadness that the Plateau State Association, UK learned of the tragic deaths and injuries of students and teachers which occurred at Saint Academy Busa Buji, Jos.”

“The association joins all the well-meaning citizens of the state home and abroad in mourning the lives that were cut short in their prime. An academic environment should be a place where future leaders are moulded and not to cut same down. While we pray for the comfort of the families and the repose of the lives lost, the Association supports the government’s plan of setting up a panel of enquiry aimed at revealing the root causes of such unfortunate collapse.
It is worthy of note that the governments’ efforts by the provisions of its executive order 003 (2024) are aimed at addressing such anomaly and possibly forestalling an unfortunate
occurrence such as the Saint Academy Building collapse. The Association hereby throws its
weight behind the executive order for the benefit of the state and for safeguarding lives and
property. We stress the need for JMDB to ensure that already built and new school buildings are effectively inspected to be sure they adhere to building standards as only then will this
unfortunate loss of lives never be experienced in the state again.”
