The Advanced Detective Course 78/2024 commenced on May 26th, 2024, and were inaugurated on May 31th, 2024, by the Commandant, AIG Adebowale Williams psc (+) fdc. The graduation ceremony, which commenced at 10:00 a.m., was a culmination of the participants’ hard work and dedication.

During the ceremony, the Commandant, Police Staff College, Jos, AIG Adebowale Williams psc (+) fdc, addressed the graduates, stating:

“Your journey to reach this point has been marked by countless hours of study, practical training, and perseverance. The results of your examination showed ample understanding of why you were here. You have demonstrated exceptional skills, critical thinking, and a deep commitment to the principles of justice and law enforcement. With the knowledge impacted in you, I am confident that henceforth, no criminal should escape justice.”

He continued:

“You have been exposed to the necessary skills and expertise needed to tackle complex investigations, solve intricate cases, and bring perpetrators to justice. Your role is vital in upholding the rule of law, protecting the innocent, and ensuring that justice is served.”

The Commandant also advised the graduates to remember that the work of a detective requires not only intelligence and skill but also empathy, compassion, and a deep sense of duty towards the community they serve. He thanked the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun PhD, NPM, for his commitment and support for capacity building. He also acknowledged the contributions of the supervising head of the institution, DIG Frank Mba, the coordinator of courses, CP Zubairu Abubakar, psc+, and other faculty staff and trainers who guided and supported the graduates throughout their training.

The course officer, CSP Ibrahim Jauro Aliyu, expressed his gratitude to the Commandant of the college, AIG Adebowale Williams psc+ fdc, for the confidence repose in him and his assistant, DSP Aondana Augustine Lorbee. He appreciated the Directors, Assistant Directors, Departmental Heads, Directing Staff of the College, the kitchen staff, the field staff, and other personnel for their dedication.

Finally, he congratulated the participants on their graduation and commended their discipline, dedication, patience, doggedness, and commitment displayed throughout the training period. He challenged them to exhibit a great measure of discipline, tact, accountability, fairness, justice, and resourcefulness as alumni of the noble police training institution.
